10-minute play
Three Scandals Walk into a Gay Bar is a 10-minute play that takes place during the final round of a Halloween costume contest at Dorothy's on Liberty, a historic gay bar in Adams Morgan, on October 31st, 2025. In the midst of what would become the longest government shutdown in US history, and in the shadow of an administration named "the worst president on LGBTQ issues ever," Armie Hammer dressed as Hannibal Lecter, a slutty Watergate Scandal, a hot Toulmouche's The Reluctant Bride, and a drag queen named "Dublin Peach Mint" find joy in queer community, no matter how scandalous.
Cast: 3 onstage roles– 1 female/afab, 1 male/amab, 1 non-binary; 1 male/amab offstage role.
Three Scandals Walk into a Gay Bar | currently in workshopping phases | v. 1.2 is available to read on NPX
Full-length, two acts– an adaptation of Arthur Conan-Doyle's A Study in Scarlet
A Study in Violet is a queer, period-adjacent, archeological reimagining of Holmes and Watson's first case. The play is a simple love story made complex by not only the murder case they must solve, but the blurred narratives that expose the original novel as a flawed version of events and bring into question what kinds of stories are allowed to be truthfully told.
Cast: 16 male roles (10 actors, expandable to 16 for educational use); designed for doubling and racially flexible casting
Workshop Version 1.1 | Excerpt & monologues available on New Play Exchange (NPX) | Full script available
