Playwright | Performer | Theatre Artist
was a sentiment I often expressed as an angsty preteen growing up in Alexandria, Virginia– just outside our nation's capital.
I'd like to say that growing up in the DMV's lively theatre scene made me the artist I am today. The truth is, however, my grandmother was a fan of the Kennedy Center's ballets, and as the oldest grandchild, I was the only one old enough for "grandma-granddaughter" dates to the theatre. Around the same time, my parents, desperate for something to keep me occupied during a sticky Virginia summer, signed me up for the elementary school musical theatre camp. The rest is history.
Currently, I'm finishing my BA in theatre (expected in Spring 2027) at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, though it was started in fall 2023 at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina.
I am primarily a playwright and performer, though I dabble enough in most technical areas to avoid asking, "Can you make the lights more gray?" during hour six of a ten-hour tech rehearsal.
As a playwright, I'm passionate about exploring the hidden human connection in stories often seen as one-dimensional. My past works include Overturned, named a "Region IV 2024 Regional Finalist for the Gary Garrison 10-Minute Playwriting Award" by the American College Theatre Festival (formerly KCACTF). My current work-in-progress, A Study in Violet, is an adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle's A Study in Scarlet– queer through period-accurate literary archeology, not modernization.
As a performer, I am mostly an actor, sometimes a singer, and if asked during a dance call, a "strong mover." I am passionate about performing theatre that is well-written enough to, at the very least, brush past my soul as the words leave my mouth. Shakespeare, musical theatre, and contemporaries who tell stories with intention are what draw me most.
